@cmrnlza haha nee sorry, ze is toch echt Turks. Er zijn wel Donkere mensen/Afrikanen geweest in Turkije maar die waren meestal van arabisch/mamlukse afkomst, er zijn nog Ottomaans "Afrikanen" in Turkije in Istanbul etc, maar heel weinig die werkten in dienst van pasha's etc. (niet als slaven) verder zijn die zwarte mensen in Turkije meestal pas in de 90/00 jaren geëmigreerd, laatste keer dat ik in Ankara was heb ik best veel zwarte mensen zien rond lopen.

@cmrnlza @cmrnlza yes there i an african community in turkey today. it is estimated that about 30 000 african origined people live in turkey currently. i don't kmow about safiye ayla but we have a young and amazing singer named melis sökmen. she has african origins. in the days of ottoman empire yavuz sultan selim, a group of african people relocated in anatolia and today we name them "aptal" , a deformed form of "abdal" that means "wise and spiritual man".

She was born in Turkey but she has african features. Does anybody know why? Did her parent relocate to Turkey at any time ? or is there an african desendant comunity in Turkey ? thanks
